Echinocactus grusonii (Golden Barrel Cactus)

Characteristics: The “Mother-in-Law’s Cushion” cactus (Echinocactus grusonii) is a spherical cactus with golden spines, adding an elegant and eye-catching touch to your garden. It is a flowering species that can live for up to 20 years.  Watering: During the growing season, water the cactus at least once a week. Fertilization: Use cactus fertilizer every 8 weeks, applying 1 tablespoon of fertilizer per gallon of water with a 5-10-10 ratio. Water the cactus thoroughly. Lighting: This cactus thrives in bright sunny locations. It requires 4 hours of direct sunlight daily, ideally placed within 4 feet of a south or east-facing window. Temperature: Ideal temperature range: 18-32°C.
